1980s
I was originally designed and built in Bogotá, Colombia, but a takeover by a new parent company brought me to the US when I was four.
In the US, I would learn to speak English, kick a ball around, and find ever more subtle ways to inject my Ivy League education into otherwise normal conversations.

2020s
Primarily living in NYC, I’ve been working on a stealth startup in the senior health and wellness space, writing, and enjoying a bit of a sabbatical while I think about the future of work as well as the future of my work.
I’m hoping to land in exactly the field I want to land in just in time for retirement. I’m also open to short-term projects and experiments.
I am a respected innovator and communicator with multiple startups and product launches in the market.
I have experience in building effective, diverse teams, engineering now, next and future product iterations, and connecting product to growth and sustainability.
My Non-Negotiables
-
Diversity
Regardless of cost and time, the team I run and the team with whom I work must represent diversity in everything from gender and ability to background and age. This comes from a personal place - as a queer LatinX immigrant - but also from a functional one. We can’t serve the real world if we don’t look like the real world.
-
Security
Every so often I'll work with a leader who says, "Security is definitely key, sure, but the site NEEDS a password login." And I'll patiently remind them that we agreed from the start not to store password data, no matter how encrypted. Security has to be paramount even to user experience because there is no worse user experience than being hacked.

Clarity
You can be totally honest without even a whiff of clarity. The difference is that you can say with all honesty that you want to move in this direction. Today. Right now. But with clarity, you have built a whole marketing and sales and financial apparatus to move in this direction - and until the market says otherwise, this is where we're going. Clarity is productive.
